This solution is a patented solution. In Sentinel, an SIEM product, 1000s of alerts are generated daily. An analyst will not be able to go through every single alert and identify if it is a critical incident that needs further action or not. This solution helps solve this problem. Based on the existing alerts escalated as an incident, analyze the probability of a current alert being escalated to an incident through Machine learning and display the incident probability value to help the security analyst analyze the probability of escalating an alert to an incident much faster. This is an algorithm written using Python. The primary objective of this algorithm to match names. The usual approach one would take is using a Levenshtein distance algorithm or Jaro distance or similar algorithms. But this doesn't really cover a lot of scenarios. The idea here was to match names by sounds and also use other string match algorithms to compliment this sound based algorithm.
